Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

Light and shadow photography is a type of photography that focuses on capturing the interplay between light and shadow in a particular scene. This style of photography often produces dramatic and compelling images that can evoke strong emotions in the viewer.

Harsh light and the contrast between light and shadow can provide some interesting photo
opportunities, as well as some challenges!

In this meetup, we will be looking at how you can use your camera's settings to nail the exposure.

One of the most basic tenets of composition is the Rule of Thirds. Although most people are familiar with this technique it is often forgotten in the haste to take a photo. However you ignore it at your peril as it can make an average snap into something which is has tension and dynamism.

In this meetup we will practice using the Rule of Thirds in a setting full of photographic possibility.

This work was inspired by a bowl of strawberries which I photographed and manipulated in the computer. I had been experimenting with watercolour ground on cradleboard and was not happy with the intensity so I boosted the saturation in some places using gouache. I finished the work with Dorland wax medium to waterproof the paint.

This was a fun tutorial I followed trying to interpret the relationship between light and snow. Utlizing blue as the shadowed area on snow was very smart. It transformed 2D into 3D. Architectural perspective is something I?m still struggling with as you can tell from the little hut. Regardless a fun piece to work with.

My name is Bryn Williams and I returned to painting last year after a 40 year hiatus. Blackburne Place:The painting is of a building in Liverpool just off Hope St where my wife and I parked for a concert in December at the Phil.I have no idea of its' present function - possibly originally something to do with the old school next door? - It caught my eye because I liked the shape it made in the night sky. The various lighting sources looked like an interesting challenge too. I've also
